Conflagration, Purifying, Fire
[I]t is said Christ should sit as a refiner's fire, and this fire is represented as the fire of a furnace that is for the purifying of silver; and here, the day is said to “burn as an oven.” This is the day of Christ's coming, the messenger of the covenant, or the day of the Sun of righteousness arising.
