The saints are spectators of God's providences relating to his church here below. See note on Hebrews 6:15. One end of the creation of the angels, and giving them such great understanding, was that they might be fit witnesses and spectators of God's works here below, and might behold all parts of the divine scheme, and see how it was accomplished in the divine works and revolutions from age to age. - WJE 18:99
